Last week, T COM' shared on its social media, 5 essential tips in order to develop your brand's Instagram account. Here are the 5 advice !
✔ ︎ 1st day, 1st advice : vary your content !
Photos, videos, stories, real or IGTV, Instagram possibilities are endless. To maintain the interest of your audience, it is essential not to limit yourself to classic photo posts.
This advice is also applicable for the content itself. Sharing your company's products and services is good, but going beyond is better. Talking about your values, showing your organization or sharing advice can all be tracks for diversification.
✔ ︎ 2nd day, 2nd advice : use the right # !
You've probably heard this advice somewhere before, and there's a good reason for it. Hashtags are essential to develop and optimize your Instagram account. But you have to select the right ones.
Indeed, adding hashtags that have no direct relation to your content or even hashtags that are already overloaded (with a number of publications greater than 1 million for example) can have the opposite effect to what you expected and make your post fall into Instagram's black hole. In this case, it will never be highlighted by the platform and your efforts will be reduced to nothing.
So be careful to choose consistent hashtags, with a number of publications between 10k and 500k to boost your performance and hope to reach a new target.
✔ ︎ 3rd day, 3rd advice : interact with your followers !
As already mentioned, the heart of your social media strategy should be around your followers. They are the ones who will put your brand forward or not, through their likes, comments, shares and reactions. A brand that does not interact with its community cannot hope to develop its Instagram account.
Ask their opinion, do surveys and respond to their messages ! In short, you need to create opportunities to engage them in your brand decisions to make them feel in part of the adventure.
✔ ︎ 4th day, 4th advice : bet on consistency !
In order to highlight active and serious accounts, Instagram's algorithm is based on the regularity of posts. So, to be pushed by the platform, having a defined publication schedule is essential.
If you don't have a lot of time to devote to content creation, it's best to choose 1 or 2 posts per week and stick to it, rather than posting twice a day for 1 week and give up the next one.
✔ ︎ 5th day, 5th advice : quality first !
Many brands are betting on publishing a lot even if they have to reduce the quality. This choice, while tempting, is unfortunately not the right one. With the mass of daily publications posted on the platform, the expectations of your target are just as high.
Posting poor quality content, in terms of aesthetics and meaning, will only make you lose your follower’s interest and therefore the Instagram algorithm’s interest.
So, the ideal is to post regularly without disregarding the quality. This is why many companies decide to hire a freelancer to support them in this heavy work, which can, if done well, be a big competitive advantage for the brand.
